Internship Program

The Political Science Department is thrilled you are considering enhancing your educational experience by participating in an internship.

The offered graduate course (PS 5389) is designed to give you hands-on, practical experience in the workplace. When finished, you will have a working knowledge of the professional workplace, marketable skills, and valuable contacts within your field of interest who can help you during and after your academic career!

In addition, as a part of the program, you will produce a research paper that will integrate theoretical constructs and applied workplace knowledge. A great writing sample for your postgraduate career.

There are many opportunities in San Marcos and the surrounding area. San Marcos and its surrounding cities, such as Kyle, Buda, New Braunfels, and San Antonio offer unique opportunities for budding activists, analysts, and politicians. Several of our students also intern at the State Capitol in Austin as legislative aides, with lobbying firms, and more.
